What to expect
Baldy day. 12,441 feet — the highest point of the trek. Tents and bear bags stay at camp. Summit with a daypack, food pickup at Baldy Town on the way down. Get above timberline early. The crew summits together.
Crew rule: off Baldy summit by 11:00 AM, no later than 12:00. Weather timing drives the decision.
